DUTCH PILOTS. The best pilots in the world.The runway at St.Maarten is only 7600 feet long. Not much room for errors. I am DUTCH and a U.S.Air Force Vet.Father ARMY (22 Yrs.) My son Air Force (31 Yrs.and still at it), Grandson Air Force (9 yrs and still at it) My sister goes to St. maarten often. The beach is a hazardous one. But people always go there to get a" whiff" of Jets coming or going.

Seem to recall 5,280 feet is a mile. Sure he has 2266 feet to spare! STOL aircraft?

One of my favorite things to see in the many photos taken at this location, is to see some people's continuing enthusiasm for airplanes.
