I got to ride in my first KC-135 in Jan '66 while going on R&R to Japan from Tan-Son Nhuyet, VN. A sweet flight!

Even in the thumbnail, I said “Hey that’s Bozeman!” It’s definitely still winter here.

Possibly the last time that United had a livery that was cohesive and smart.

Fantastic shot Gary. Also the TAC F5 and the Super Hornet at NAS Fallon!

Regardless of the equipment you use, you have really creative vision when it comes to framing the pic before snapping it. You also include many different angles and subjects within a photo. Keep up the good work.

Why is there a bucket under the fuselage? Is this $8 million helicopter leaking oil?

I know EXACTLY where this was taken!
Great shot. I would like to clarify the earlier comment. The background is not Camelback Mountain. It is the Papago Buttes with has a much redder rock. Camelback Mountain is also a longer range than the more compact Papago Buttes. Both are beautiful in their own ways.

I also love the perspective of the "ramper". Years ago, I worked for FedEx and it was the first time I ever had the perspective of looking up at an aircraft instead of out at one from the terminal. It is totally different.
I learned to fly in one of these...six carrier landings...

Nice shot. An 'oldey' but a 'goodey'. Built in 1979.

That is the very definition of 'sleek'!! Great shot.

Great shot, looking towards Camelback Mountain. The size of that 'ramper' standing next to the engine is very impressive!

Gee, I wonder who carries their insurance?? ð
Written on 17/03/2023 by Bob Wolff
@Paul Barrett Yep, I was going to say the same thing, based on the high-bypass turbofans (for those that don't know the 'R' as I was told stands for 'Re-engined'). The airframe might have been an 'A' at one time. I used to work these at a tower and they are amazingly quiet compared to the old turbojet models with water injection, I got to experience those at KDYS, mother lover they were loud, and trailed smoke like a steam engine.
